Hello Kitty x Starbucks x Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull Halloween 2026 Advent Calendar – I Came for Hello Kitty. The Tiny Sugar Skull Coffee Mug Changed the Whole Mood.
At first glance, I thought this would be another cute Hello Kitty Halloween countdown.
Then I noticed the coffee cup covered in flowers.
Then the pink sugar skull.
Then the tiny bakery case.
By that point, the Hello Kitty x Starbucks x Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull Halloween 2026 Advent Calendar felt like something completely different.
Instead of pumpkins, ghosts and black-and-orange Halloween graphics taking over everything, this collection leans into flowers, candlelight, colorful folk-inspired patterns and coffee-shop details. It has a warmer, more decorative personality that feels especially suited to an autumn display.

The First Six Pieces Set the Tone Immediately
The top row introduces several Hello Kitty designs with noticeably different outfits and accessories.
Some wear floral dresses and headpieces inspired by Día de los Muertos celebrations. Others bring the coffee theme forward with a green apron and takeaway cup. There’s also a candle-holding design and another with a pink concha-style pastry.
The little details keep each one from feeling like a simple color variation.
Orange marigolds, bows, floral face decoration, bright skirts and coffee accessories move the theme back and forth between Hello Kitty, café culture and the festive imagery shown throughout the calendar.
Then the Coffee Shop Starts Taking Over
The second group is where the café side of the design really comes alive.
A black cat figure decorated with flowers sits beside another floral Hello Kitty piece. Nearby are two drink designs—a green takeaway cup and a cold drink topped with whipped cream—followed by a pink sugar-skull mug and a miniature pastry display case.
I like that sequence because it makes the collection feel almost like a tiny themed coffee counter.
You could easily display those pieces together after the countdown instead of putting everything away once Halloween is over.
The Middle Row Feels Like a Día de los Muertos Celebration
Pieces 13 through 18 move away from the café counter and into the most colorful part of the collection.
Two decorative sugar skulls appear in white and pink. A bright marigold bouquet sits beside multicolored papel picado banners, while another piece depicts a candlelit remembrance display surrounded by flowers.
The final piece in this row is a group of decorated candles.
Visually, this is probably my favorite section.
The orange flowers against the dark green, pink and cream palette give the collection a much richer look than a typical Halloween countdown.
Even the Pastries Get Their Own Halloween Moment
The last six pieces bring the themes back together.
There are two sweet bread-inspired designs, a floral pumpkin, a decorated coffee bag, a miniature storefront and a final 2026 keepsake surrounded by flowers with a small sugar-skull motif.
Nothing feels especially frightening.
That’s actually part of the appeal.
This is more about warm candlelight, flowers, sweets, coffee and seasonal celebration than jump scares or horror imagery. It could work particularly well for someone who likes Halloween décor but prefers colorful, cozy designs over darker gothic themes.

I’d Turn the 24 Pieces Into a Little Coffee-Shop Display
Once the countdown was finished, I wouldn’t necessarily keep all 24 pieces arranged in numerical order.
I’d put the storefront toward the back, group the cups and pastry case around it, place the Hello Kitty pieces near the front, then use the flowers, candles, papel picado and sugar skulls to build the rest of the scene.
Suddenly it becomes less like an Advent Calendar and more like a tiny Día de los Muertos-inspired café display.
That’s where this particular concept stands out.
There are enough repeating visual elements to make everything belong together, but enough variation that discovering each new design still feels interesting.

More Marigolds Than Monsters
The Hello Kitty x Starbucks x Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull Halloween 2026 Advent Calendar isn’t trying to be the scariest thing on the Halloween shelf.
It doesn’t need to be.
Its personality comes from combining Hello Kitty’s sweetness with coffee-shop imagery and a vivid celebration-inspired palette of marigolds, candles, sugar skulls and decorative patterns.
Twenty-four days later, you’re left with a collection that still looks worth displaying long after the final door has been opened.
