Route 66 Road Trip 2027 Wall Calendar – This Calendar Makes January Feel Like the Car Is Already Packed
There’s something about old road-trip artwork that makes me want to know what’s around the next bend.
That’s the feeling I get from the Route 66 Road Trip 2027 Wall Calendar.
The cover doesn’t just show a Route 66 shield and call it finished. There’s a turquoise vintage car loaded for the road, old suitcases, desert mesas, cactus scenery and a stack of roadside signs promising:
MOTEL
GAS
EATS
ADVENTURE
FREEDOM
OPEN ROAD
GOOD VIBES
It feels like the beginning of a trip rather than simply the cover of a calendar.

Every Month Looks Like Another Stop Along the Mother Road
This is where I’d have fun flipping ahead.
The pictured monthly pages keep the same vintage car as a visual thread, but the scenery changes around it.
April rolls through desert wildflowers and wide-open country.
May pulls into Cactus Creek Gas & Oil.
June feels warmer, with palms and the retro Sunset Palms Cafe.
August brings another desert stop and an old-fashioned diner.
September parks beside the Red Rock Trading Post.
November shifts into orange autumn foliage around the Blue Mesa Motel.
And by December, the same road-trip idea has reached a snowy Snowline Motel scene.
That progression makes the calendar feel almost like a little illustrated journey through 2027.
The Retro Signs Might Be My Favorite Detail
Look closely and there are little phrases everywhere.
Scenic Roads, Happier Days.
More Miles, Brighter Days.
Good Food, Good Roads, Good Days.
Home for the Holidays.
None of them needs much space, but together they give each page the personality of an old roadside postcard.
The recurring Route US 66 shield, neon-style motel signs, gas pumps, diners and desert scenery pull everything into the same nostalgic Americana aesthetic.
Even the color palette helps: turquoise, dusty orange, cream, deep blue and sun-faded red all feel right at home together.
The Artwork Gets Attention, but It Still Works as a Calendar
Under each illustrated scene is a traditional monthly grid with the days of the week arranged for everyday planning.
That’s important because I wouldn’t want something this decorative to become wall art that happens to have tiny unusable dates at the bottom.
The pictured layout gives the artwork plenty of room while keeping the month and year clearly visible.
Hang it in a home office, kitchen, garage, workshop or travel-themed room and it can serve both purposes: a practical look at the month ahead and a new Route 66 scene to enjoy every few weeks.

By December, I’d Probably Keep the Pages
That’s the funny thing about calendars with artwork like this.
You’re supposed to turn the page and move on.
But I’d have trouble throwing some of these away.
The motel scenes could work as inspiration for a travel wall. The desert pages have that vintage postcard feel. Even the snowy December artwork gives Route 66 a completely different personality from the sun-soaked imagery normally associated with it.
By the end of 2027, the calendar has essentially become a collection of retro road-trip illustrations.

FAQ
What style of artwork is featured in the calendar?
The pictured pages use colorful retro Americana and vintage travel-poster styling centered around Route 66 road trips.
Does the scenery change throughout the year?
Yes. The examples show different seasonal and roadside settings, including desert landscapes, wildflowers, diners, motels, palm trees, autumn foliage and snowy winter scenery.
Is this a decorative calendar or a functional calendar?
It’s designed to do both. Each pictured month combines a large Route 66 illustration with a conventional calendar grid underneath for everyday date reference.

The December page is the one that surprised me. Route 66 usually makes me think of desert heat, neon signs and endless blue sky; seeing that same turquoise car parked beside a snowy roadside motel makes the calendar feel like one long road trip that actually traveled through the whole year.
