I Started Counting Cars. Then the Track Pieces Changed the Whole Idea.
At first glance, I thought this would simply be 24 different little cars.
That would have made sense.
But the Hot Wheels Advent Calendar 2026 does something more fun with the concept. The first half gives you a miniature garage full of different vehicles, while the later days begin adding all the things that make racing feel like racing—the track, flag, pit stop, helmet, tires and starting lights.
By Day 24, it feels less like you’ve collected a row of cars and more like you’ve assembled a tiny racing world for Christmas.

The Garage Fills Up Fast
The first 12 pictured ornaments are heavily focused on vehicles, and there’s plenty of variety between them.
I can see sporty coupes, a race-ready red car, a bright yellow performance car, an off-road vehicle, a vintage hot rod and a purple van.
The next row changes the silhouettes again with futuristic and classic-inspired cars, police-themed vehicles, a pink compact design and another gold hot rod.
That’s important for a set like this.
If all 12 vehicles shared the same body with different paint, opening them day after day could become predictable. Here, the pictured designs change shape, color and styling enough that each little car has its own personality.
I’d definitely end up trying to choose a favorite.
Then change my mind five minutes later.
Day 13 Is Where the Collection Leaves the Garage
This is the part I like most.
Day 13 isn’t another car.
It’s an orange loop.
Then comes the checkered flag, followed by the familiar flame-shaped racing emblem. Day 16 gives you a miniature PIT STOP, Day 17 a traffic cone and Day 18 a podium topped with a gold trophy.
Suddenly the cars from the first half have somewhere to go.
You can almost build a tiny race setup around the ornaments: loop at one end, pit area on the side, cone marking the course and trophy waiting at the finish.
That gives the 24-piece collection much more display potential than vehicles alone.

The Helmet, Tires and Starting Lights Finish the Race
The final row continues that idea.
There’s a ramp-style track piece, followed by a colorful racing helmet.
Then come stacked tires and a wheel.
Day 22 is a set of starting lights.
Day 23 switches into holiday mode with a snowy SPEEDWAY ornament surrounded by trees and mountains.
Finally, Day 24 is a blue wrapped present with Hot Wheels-style artwork and a large red bow.
I like that the Christmas pieces are saved toward the end rather than forced onto every car.
For most of the countdown, racing gets to be the main event.
Christmas arrives for the finish.
The Box Looks Like Someone Built a Track Through a Ski Resort
The packaging might be my favorite part of the concept.
A huge orange track cuts through a snowy mountain town, complete with loops, Christmas trees and cars racing through the winter landscape. A large blue muscle-car-style vehicle dominates the foreground while other cars race along the track behind it.
Across the front, the artwork reads:
HOT WHEELS
2026 ADVENT CALENDAR
24 DAYS OF SPEED
The 24 numbered doors are integrated into the snowy racing scene, so the calendar doesn’t look like generic Christmas packaging with a logo pasted on top.
It feels like its own little winter racetrack.

I’d Build the Track Before I Put Anything on the Christmas Tree
The orange loop goes first.
Pit stop beside it.
Starting lights at the beginning.
Checkered flag at the other end.
Then I’d line up a few of the cars and put the trophy behind the finish.
That’s the fun part of the Hot Wheels Advent Calendar 2026 for me. The pictured 24-piece collection doesn’t have to stay arranged in numbered rows. Once the countdown is complete, the different designs can become a miniature racing display—or be spread across the Christmas tree as individual ornaments.
Either way, I’d probably keep Day 24’s present near the finish line.
Every good race needs a prize.
