This Looks Like a Cabinet Someone Locked 300 Years Ago
The first thing I’d want to know isn’t what’s behind Day 1.
It’s why somebody collected all of this in the first place.
A beaked mask. A raven. Green liquid glowing inside old bottles. A medical bag. A sealed scroll. A jar containing something I probably shouldn’t inspect too closely.
The Gothic Plague Doctor SCP-049 Dark Horror Halloween Advent Calendar feels less like a box of Halloween decorations and more like opening an abandoned doctor’s cabinet one compartment at a time.
And judging by the lock farther down the collection, perhaps it was supposed to stay closed.

The First Six Feel Like the Plague Doctor’s Personal Tools
The opening row establishes the aesthetic immediately.
There’s a hooded plague-doctor-style figure followed by the recognizable long-beaked mask. A black raven comes next, then two different green potion or lantern-like vessels.
Day 6 finishes the row with an ornate antique key.
Black, aged gold and poisonous-looking green dominate everything.
There are no bright Halloween colors competing for attention. Even when these ornaments are displayed individually, they look as though they belong to the same mysterious collection.
Then I Found the Medical Bag
The second row is where the theme starts feeling more like a story.
Day 7 is an old brown medical bag decorated with a medical-style emblem. Beside it is a rolled and sealed document, followed by a heavily melted green candle.
Then comes a pocket watch.
After that, a gothic stone doorway.
And finally, a single dark-red rose.
It’s an unusual sequence because nothing explicitly explains what happened. The objects do that work themselves.
A bag.
A document.
A clock.
A doorway.
You can invent the rest of the story while opening the calendar.
I Would Probably Leave Day 14 Inside the Box
Day 13 is a black feather.
That’s fine.
Day 14 is a specimen-like jar.
That’s where my curiosity ends.
The pictured third row continues with an ornate bell, an antique medical-style book, a heavy padlock and a hanging sign featuring a mortar-and-pestle symbol.
This section feels particularly suited to the SCP-049-inspired theme because it combines medical references with objects that look old enough to have come from a completely different century.
Nothing is sleek or modern.
Everything looks worn, secretive and slightly forbidden.

The Last Six Go Full Gothic
The final row contains some of the strongest decorative pieces in the collection.
There’s a syringe filled with green liquid, followed by a moth with a skull-like center.
Day 21 becomes an elaborate iron gate.
Day 22 is a gold crescent moon covered in ornamental detailing.
Then comes a wide-brimmed black hat.
And Day 24 finishes the countdown with a miniature gothic tower or chapel-like building.
I like that ending.
Instead of revealing another plague doctor, the final ornament gives the collection a destination—as though all the keys, bottles, books and strange objects from the previous 23 days somehow belonged inside that building.
The Packaging Looks Like an Old Forbidden Medical Book
The box might be just as important to the aesthetic as the ornaments.
Its surface is nearly black, with distressed green textures and elaborate antique-gold borders. The central artwork depicts a hooded plague-doctor figure carrying a glowing lantern, surrounded by ravens and gothic architecture.
Across the top appears:
SCP-049
PLAGUE DOCTOR
ADVENT CALENDAR
The artwork also includes “Twenty Four Cursed Relics,” while the bottom carries the Latin-styled phrase “Omnia Mortalia Aegrota Sunt.”
Twenty-four numbered doors are kept deliberately dark and understated, making the whole calendar resemble an antique cabinet or oversized occult volume.
It would fit naturally into a darker Halloween setup with candles, old books, pumpkins and gothic decorations.

I’d Arrange These Like Evidence From a Very Strange Case
The mask and medical bag belong together.
The book should sit beside the sealed document.
The key goes near the locked door.
The syringe and green bottles can have their own suspicious little corner.
And that gothic building from Day 24 goes at the back, as though everything else came from somewhere inside it.
That’s what makes the Gothic Plague Doctor SCP-049 Dark Horror Halloween Advent Calendar visually interesting after the countdown is over. Its 24 pictured pieces share enough of the same dark aesthetic to become one complete gothic display rather than a pile of unrelated Halloween ornaments.
Just don’t ask me what’s in the specimen jar.
